Before You Say It

Privacy Policy

This beta privacy notice explains how Before You Say It handles the drafts, sessions, feedback, memory, and account data used to provide private communication rehearsal.

Effective date: May 30, 2026Beta notice

Plain-Language Summary

Before You Say It is built for private message rehearsal. The most sensitive data in the product is the text you choose to write, paste, dictate, analyze, save, or provide as context. We use that data to give you communication feedback and better-sounding versions. We do not sell your drafts or profile memory.

During beta, the product may save sessions, feedback, profile signals, and semantic memory so the experience can improve. You should only submit content you are comfortable processing in the product, and you should avoid adding unnecessary secrets, passwords, payment data, medical details, or other highly sensitive information.

Who We Are

This policy applies to Before You Say It, also referred to as BYSIT, available through the BYSIT web application and related pre-production environments. For privacy questions, contact us at bysit@bysit.ai.

Data We Collect

  • Account and access data: email address, name if provided, invitation status, role, beta tier, sign-in provider, and access timestamps.
  • Communication workspace data: drafts you submit, optional context, selected channel or relationship context, generated analysis, suggested rewrites, culture lens settings, and saved session history.
  • Feedback and preference data: rewrite selections, copy actions, feedback such as too soft or too direct, and explicit calibration choices.
  • Memory data: profile signals and semantic memory records created from saved analyses when memory is enabled for the beta environment.
  • Usage and operational data: daily sentence counts, analysis counts, rewrite iteration counts, error states, security logs, and basic service diagnostics.

How We Use Data

We use personal data and workspace content to:

  • provide message rehearsal, reception reads, rewrite suggestions, and culture lens support
  • save sessions so you can reopen prior communication work
  • adapt future suggestions to explicit feedback and recurring communication patterns
  • operate invitation-only access, owner/admin controls, abuse prevention, rate limits, and usage limits
  • debug, secure, and improve the product during the private beta

AI Processing

When you ask the product to rehearse or rewrite a message, your draft and relevant context may be sent to an AI provider to generate structured analysis and rewrite suggestions. Provider processing is used to deliver the requested feature, not to sell your content.

AI output is guidance, not a guarantee about how another person will respond. You remain responsible for deciding what to send or say.

Memory and Profile Signals

The product may create profile signals from saved analyses and feedback, such as recurring clarity, warmth, directness, hedging, escalation risk, or preferred rewrite style. Semantic memory may be used as soft context for future analysis when enabled. Semantic memory is designed to store abstract communication patterns, not the full original draft text.

The current draft should always remain more important than memory. Memory is intended to help BYSIT adapt to your style and patterns; it should not be treated as a hidden personality label or a permanent judgment.

Sharing and Service Providers

We may use infrastructure, authentication, database, deployment, analytics, transcription, and AI service providers to run the product. These providers process data only as needed to provide, secure, monitor, and improve the service.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the service, prevent abuse, or enforce access rules. We do not sell personal information.

Retention

During beta, saved sessions, profile signals, semantic memory, usage records, and access records may be retained while your account is active and while they are needed to operate the product. Memory and session deletion controls are being added inside the product.

Some operational logs, security records, backups, or legal records may remain for a limited period after deletion requests where necessary for security, abuse prevention, compliance, or service recovery.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • request access to data associated with your account
  • export available session, signal, and memory data
  • ask us to correct inaccurate account or profile information
  • delete saved sessions, profile signals, and semantic memory where the product supports deletion
  • object to or restrict certain processing where applicable
  • withdraw optional consent where processing is based on consent

You can start with the Memory & Privacy Center inside the app, or contact us at bysit@bysit.ai.

International Transfers

The product may use service providers and infrastructure located outside your country. Where required, we aim to use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect workspace content and account data, including invitation-only access for beta environments, authentication checks, protected API routes, security headers, and access controls. No internet service can guarantee perfect security.

Children

Before You Say It is not intended for children. Do not use the product if you are under the minimum age required to use online services in your location.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product, providers, data controls, or legal requirements change. Material changes should be reflected by updating this page and the effective date.
